About this experience
You drive the jet ski yourself rather than riding along on someone else’s boat. For two hours you follow the south coast into coves, past caves and under cliffs that you never get close to from a catamaran deck.
How the trip runs
It starts with a briefing. The instructors show you how the machine works and go through the safety rules on the water, then you are given a life vest and the group heads out. No licence and no previous experience are needed, the controls come down to a handful of things you will have down within a quarter of an hour.
A safety boat with an experienced instructor stays with you for the whole route. That changes how the ride feels, because you can open the throttle on open water knowing someone has an eye on the group.
Along the way you look into places bigger vessels cannot enter. With a little luck you will spot turtles or flying fish, as the south coast is generous that way. There is also a stop for a swim in the ocean.
Who this suits
It works for couples, groups of friends and families with teenagers. All of the jet skis are two-seaters, so you can ride alone or with someone, and the price quoted is per jet ski rather than per person. When booking, select the number of jet skis and the number of participants.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women. If swell bothers you or you do not feel confident on open water, a catamaran cruise is the better choice.
Practical details
You set off from one of two ports in the south of Tenerife: Las Galletas or Puerto Colon. If you are staying around Costa Adeje, Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Palm Mar or Costa del Silencio, we arrange free transport to Las Galletas. Puerto Colon, in the heart of Costa Adeje, you reach on your own, and we send the location and map pins after booking. You pick the option on the booking form.
Your ticket with the exact time and meeting point arrives by email within 24 hours of booking. The instructor may offer photos from the trip, which are paid separately on site.

The minimum driver age is 16 on a single-rider jet ski, with a guardian's consent, and 18 on a two-person machine. Children from the age of 6 can take part as passengers riding with an adult. The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
The price is 180 euros and covers one jet ski rather than one person. A machine carries a maximum of two people, so a couple splits that amount between them. When booking, select both the number of jet skis and the number of participants.
