About this experience
An evening inside the genuine Castillo San Miguel, with knights in full armour, mounted contests and a three-course dinner served while the show runs. Children cheer on their own knight, adults eat and watch. One of the few things to do in Tenerife that starts after dark.
What happens during the show
The castle gates open at 18:30 and the show itself runs from 19:00 to 21:30. The audience is split into sections, and each section is given its own knight to support through the evening. It is a simple idea that usually works on children better than anything else.
In the arena, riders run mounted contests and armoured knights fight with swords and face each other in duels. The horses are the main act here, and the seating is close enough to hear the hooves and the clatter of armour.
Dinner is served during the performance, at tables set around the arena. The menu is cream of seasonal vegetable soup with pieces of cheese, roast chicken leg in its own juices with roast potatoes and ice cream tart with chocolate syrup, plus white or red wine, an orange drink and mineral water.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
This is an evening for families with children and for groups who want dinner and a show in one go. The cheering, the music and eating with your hands work well together.
If you are after a quiet candlelit dinner or a historically accurate reenactment with scholarly commentary, this is not the place. The show is loud, entertaining and built as a spectacle rather than a history lesson.
Practical information
The show runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You can drive yourself, as there is free parking in front of the castle. If you need transport, we collect from three zones: Los Gigantes, Callao and Playa Paraíso, then Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos, Ten Bel and Golf del Sur, and finally Puerto de la Cruz and Las Caletillas. Transport from Puerto de la Cruz runs on Saturdays only. Hotel pickups start at around 17:00.
When you order, be sure to write the name of your hotel in the order notes, otherwise we do not know where to collect you. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the start. Bring a warm layer, as the castle walls get cool in the evening.
