What you do on this tour
You meet in Puerto de la Cruz, near the Botanical Garden. Before the start the guide explains how to handle a quad and how to ride safely, then hands out the equipment. After that you head uphill.
The route climbs mountain roads through Canarian nature that changes with every kilometre. You begin in the damp, green part of the island and finish in the volcanic landscape of Teide National Park, where hardened lava and pumice replace the trees.
On the way you often ride through the cloud layer that gets caught on the island’s northern slope. Above it, the clouds look like a solid white sea. It is not something you can see from the beach in Puerto.
At the highest point of the route we stop for a snack with a drink and a quiet moment in front of one of the widest views on the island.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It suits people who want to do the riding and would rather feel the altitude than look at it through a coach window. Quads carry two: one rides, one sits behind. The combined weight must not exceed 160 kg.
The rider must hold a valid category B driving licence and carry it on the day. Children from the age of 7 travel as passengers. If you struggle with cold, wind or altitude, a car tour is the safer pick, because conditions up top can be sharp even on a sunny day.

The start time depends on the season. We confirm it in a separate email after booking, along with the exact meeting point. Dress in layers, because the temperature gap between Puerto de la Cruz and Teide National Park can be considerable. A jacket or jumper is essential, along with closed shoes.
